Chocolate Balls with Blackberry Glaze
Prep time: 15 mins Chill time: 2 hours Total time: 2 hours 15 mins
Ingredients
Chocolate Balls
Leftover chocolate cake (or see my chocolate cake recipe)
1/4 - 1/2 cup chocolate frosting
Blackberry Glaze
12 blackberries
½ cup powdered sugar
Equipment
Measuring cups and spoons
Small bowl
Baking sheet
How To
Make the blackberry sauce. In a small bowl, squeeze the juice out of the blackberries. Add the powdered sugar and stir with a small spoon until well mixed.
You can add more or less of the two ingredients depending on the thickness of the glaze you want. If you want the glaze to be smooth in texture, then you can squeeze the juice of the blackberries over a sieve. I like the rougher texture and didn’t use a sieve.
In a medium bowl, crumble the (cool) cake into crumbs. Add about 3-4 tablespoons of chocolate buttercream frosting and fold it in with a large spoon until well combined.
Take about a tablespoon full, and form balls from the mixture and place on the baking sheet. You should make about twenty chocolate balls.
Chill for two hours minimum.
Remove from the fridge and sprinkle the blackberry glaze over the chocolate balls.
